The cottage is located on a remote Karoo farm. The distance from the tar road to the cottage is 30km, all on gravel road. This takes about 45min – 1 hour driving depending on your vehicle. From Graaff-Reinet the drive is 55km travel time is 1hour – 1 hour 30min. 

A 4×4 is not needed for this road, however, higher ground clearance makes travelling the roads easier. A sedan will reach the cottage, but will take longer. When it is raining, a 4×4 is then needed in certain sections of the road.

Wood is available for both braaiing and for the indoor fireplace. Please arrange in advance.

Pets are welcome and the yard around the cottage is enclosed with a fence. Please note that pets are not allowed on the bed and furniture.

We provide linen, towels and there is a fully equipped kitchenette (however there is no oven). Just bring your food, beverages, walking shoes and binoculars.

The water is borehole water and perfectly safe to drink.

There are a couple of walking trails. One is a 2km trail and the other is much shorter leading to the twin dams. There are Jeep tracks along which you can walk, run, and cycle. Bird life is rife in the summer. Stargazing at night is a must while you sit on the stoep. Look out for the wild roaming Eland in the lands.

Prepared meals are available, but must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance. These meals are then to be heated by yourself when you want to eat.
